Starting New Document
Before you will be able to use Word you should buy it, and you can find it at online stores or computers shops. Like we mentioned before, word is part of the Microsoft Office Package, and may include applications like Excel and Powerpoint. Microsoft Office may come in different versions, from 2000, XP and to the newest version 2003.
Now after installing office, which is pretty simple just to click the "next" button through the whole proccess. We will have a few new icons on our desktop, if you can't see them, try looking in the Start Menu >>> Programs >>> Office, and open the "Word" shortcut.

Now you see the open-screen of the word application. There are menus buttons and options all over. The white place in the middle which looks like a paper is the place to write your text on, try taking your mouse their, clicking once and writing some text like 'Hello Microsoft Word'.
Now after you know where you type the texts, try to type something longer with a few lines so you will be able to design it in your own styles. Before you do this let's learn some text manipulations. For example if you write 'Hello microsoft Word' and you want to change the word 'Hello' to 'Welcome'. Put the marker on the end of the 'Hello' word, by clicking one click with the mouse on the end of the word, the little line which is blinking is the marker, now you can use the delete button on the keyboard to delete and after that write the new word like usuall. The second option is to mark the work by double clicking the word or to drage the mouse clicked from the start of the word to the end and the when the work is marked to type the new word, it will overwrite the wor

Now select(mark) part of your text and from the upper menu you can choose the 'B' underline to the text selected.

You can use the toolbar to change font type, font-color and background colors simply by marking the text you want to change, and then selecting new size, color or font-type. You can also simp

After finishing writing and styling your document page/s, you need to save your file to your computer, or to some other storage method. You can also simply view the document before printing and print the document. Another thing you can do with the file after finishing it, is to send it to someone by email or any instant messages application.
